Welcome to Friends of St Mary Abbots School!
FOSMAS is the parent-teacher organisation supporting St Mary Abbots School. All parents and staff of the school are automatically members. FOSMAS is run by a committee of trustees, as well as class reps from every year group.
FOSMAS works to raise funds to enhance the educational experience of the children at St Mary Abbots, and to foster school community cohesion and engagement.
Yearly events include the popular Christmas and Summer Fairs, Quiz Night, the Read-a-thon, parent socials, fun runs, class parties, uniform sales, cake sales and more!
In the face of increasing expenses faced by all state schools, combined with decreasing government funding, the fundraising efforts of FOSMAS play a critical role. The funds raised are essential to maintaining an enhanced curriculum and providing enrichment activities for our children, including school trips, cultural events, special performances, resources and equipment.
With the support of our school community, FOSMAS aims to bridge the funding gap and ensure that St Mary Abbots staff can provide an exceptional educational experience for our children.
Funds raised by FOSMAS contribute to various initiatives, such as:
- Forest School
- Enhanced classroom technology e.g. interactive whiteboards, computers and staff iPads
- Chess lessons
- Cultural events and trips e.g. to musical performances in the West End
- Enhanced curriculum materials e.g. those used in Maths No Problem
